PRIME-North....

Funded by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Division of Early Childhood, Youth and Women’s Health, PRIME-North is the Project’s maternal and child health community education program. Project staff provides referrals to teens and women who are pregnant or parenting children up to two years old. Project staff also do workshops and presentations at many community health organizations on topics that range from parenting and self-esteem to stress management and nutrition.

PRIME-North sponsors a community health fair every spring for teens and women who live in North Central Philadelphia.

The overall goal of PRIME-North is to provide support services to at-risk minority teens and women to better insure a healthy pregnancy that will reduce the incidence of infant mortality in our community. Here at the Project, we realize that healthy women are more likely to have healthy families.
