Finance Director

Responsible for the fiscal and record keeping tasks of the African American United Fund, formerly the Black United Fund. Assists President and Treasurer in preparation of the annual budget, supervises clerical, bookkeeping and volunteer interns for the fiscal office. Is responsible for compliance in city, state, and federal regulations related to fiscal matters. Prepares records for annual audit, annual report, files all taxes and works with payroll firm, auditors and finance committee. The Finance Director is responsible for preparation of all funding applications and reports related to fiscal matters. Performs all other duties as directed by the President/CEO.

Responsibilities

1.      Assists President, Treasurer and Finance committee in budget preparation

2.      Maintains all fiscal files records, documents and archives

3.      Supervises paid and volunteer staff  in fiscal office and trains other staff for fiscal matters

4.      Prepares all tax reports on quarterly and annual basis, or as required

5.      Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports for governance and funding sources

6.      Responsible for compliance with local, state, and federal agencies and liaisons with same

7.      Prepares required financial statements for independent auditors, including schedules

8.      Accommodates independent auditor and coordinates audit as necessary

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Accounting; Business Management or Financial Management

Experience in accounting for two to five years (MBA or CPA a plus) or supervisory experience
